Dutch brace for Koran film fallout

A controversial anti-Muslim film has been posted on the Internet by Dutch MP Geert Wilder. The film called ‘Fitna’, which could be translated as ‘Strife’, depicts the rising number of Muslims in Europe as a threat.

Dutch television refused to broadcast the 15-minute movie which sets verses from Koran to violent images of terrorist attacks. The government has rejected the way the film equates Islam with violence. But there are fears of an aggressive reaction from the Muslim community similar to the backlash Denmark suffered in 2006 over the publication of cartoons of Mohammad.
