According to the Russian paper Vedomosti, Roman Abramovich's spokesman, John Mann, says Russian self-exiled billionaire Boris Berezovsky could not have served the Chelsea Club owner with a court summons, as he has been out of town since Wednesday.
Earlier, Britain's Daily Mail newspaper reported that Mr Berezovsky handed over the summons in a central London boutique in what was described as a chance encounter. Boris Berezovsky says his one-time business partner owes him as much as 5 billion pounds. The only way to prove that the writ has been served is CCTV footage, which according to British laws, is stored for 28 days. Mr Berezovsky's lawyers are said to have demanded the footage be handed to police while the tycoon himself claims Mr Abramovich's representatives have tried to get hold of the tape as well.
