Six days on and there is still little information about the six Russians kidnapped in Nigeria on Sunday. It is known they are alive and well, and contact has been made with the kidnappers, but their demands are still unknown.

The men work for the Russian aluminum company RUSAL and were abducted at gunpoint from a plant in Nigeria's southeast. So far, it appears no one has claimed responsibility for the incident or demanded a ransom. The Nigerian President is said to be personally supervising the investigation. The Russian side has stressed that all efforts are being taken to release those abducted.
