Most of the victims are aged from 9 to 16 and are Ukrainian. Europol says the masterminds promised the girls modelling careers. The children received from 20 to 40 Euros for taking part in sex scenes. The investigation was launched a year ago after an Italian was arrested for distributing a video in which a Belgian man raped his daughters, aged nine and eleven. “Overall we have identified 23 victims. Besides the two Belgian girls, there were 21 Ukrainian girls that we have identified. They were recruited through newspaper advertisements, or they were picked up in McDonald's, or on the street,” commented Menno Hagemeijer from Europol Serious Crime Department.
