Two militants killed in Chechen mountains

Two militants have been killed in the Russian republic of Chechnya. This comes as a special operation to neutralize a militant group is unfolding in the mountainous area in the south of the republic.

According to the head of the Chechen republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, the group consists of seven to 10 people, two of whom have been killed. One of the two militants killed may be from the Middle East, Kadyrov added.  One policeman was killed in the gunfight, while two more officers were wounded. Special forces are trying to round up the remaining members of the group.
