A supporter of Georgian presidential candidate Badri Patarkatsishvili has been beaten up. It comes less than two months before Georgia goes to the polls to elect a new president.

Merab Khurtsidze, the deputy of the Georgian Parliament, was attacked by five people near his house on Monday evening and was taken to hospital. He links his assault to his membership in the group assisting the Georgian businessman and claims there was no robbery attempt.
