Two men crashed a gas-laden Jeep Cherokee into the main terminal of Glasgow airport, causing it to explode. The Jeep smashed into the airport security barriers without injuring anyone. Another attempted terror attack took place in the country's capital, where two cars packed with gas cylinders and nails were discovered in the centre of London. These incidents caused the UK authorities to declare a 'critical' terror alert, before lowering it to 'severe' after the capture of eight people, all allegedly connected with the failed bombings.
