A village in the Moscow Region has put itself on the map through its efforts to preserve one of Russia's cultural traditions. Bell-ringers and folk performers have gathered in Sharapovo for the first ever International Bell Music Festival.

In Orthodox Christianity, bell-ringing has always played a central part during celebrations. One of the reasons the festival is taking place today is due to the Feast of the Holy Trinity – a religious holiday honoring the Trinity, which will be celebrated by the Orthodox Church this Sunday.
