Thousands of dead fish washed-up on the shore have forced authorities to close beaches in the Sea of Azov. A heat wave is said to be the cause of the incident.

Tourists have been advised to stay away from the beaches of the Kazantip area. Rescue workers and community services are currently clearing up the dead fish. Biologists suggest high water temperatures may be to blame. It causes seaweed to die, which reduces the amount of oxygen in the water, causing the fish to suffocate.
