Aussies bury CO2 to beat global warming

Australia has launched a plant that pumps carbon dioxide into underground chambers in a bid to combat climate change.

Scientists have started piping “captured” carbon dioxide deem underground as part of its efforts to curb the pollution that causes global warming. The plant is the only one in the Southern hemisphere and is located in the southern state of Victoria. It uses an experimental technology designed to capture CO2 and store it two kilometres below the surface into a depleted natural gas reservoir.
