Argentina: first snowfall in almost 90 years

A major snowfall has hit the Argentinean capital of Buenos Aires for the first time in nearly 90 years. Residents couldn't get enough of it and saw it as a gift to celebrate Argentina's Independence Day.

City temperatures are usually mild during the winter, but they have plummeted, hovering around one degree Celsius. Wet snow mixed with sleet pelted much of western and central Argentina.   Authorities warn that conditions could worsen overnight. Follow the link to learn the weather in Buenos Aires.
