Abkhazia says it was not involved in an attack that led to the death of a mayor and a civilian in a Georgian village. Georgia's Interior Ministry said the two men died and a policeman was injured in a remotely-detonated explosion in a border village.

The men were inspecting a house that officials say was damaged in an Abkhazian attack overnight. Speaking to RT, Abkhazia's President Sergey Bagapsh denied his country was behind the violence. “As for what is happening on their side, it’s their own business, and let them handle than on their own. Our special forces are on alert, but they are just monitoring the situation, nothing more,” he said.
