Media organisations in the United States and elsewhere mislead Americans about Russia, the Discovery Institute in Seattle says in a new study. First research of its kind reports many media stereotypes blinding Americans to the advantages of doing business

Russia Today's report says it is often hard to find news about Russia on the front page of a U.S. newspaper, except when something bad happens. Examples are the recent murders of journalist Anna Politkovskaya and the Central Bank's deputy chief, Andrey Kozlov. But some U.S. experts now question this approach by the mainstream media. The report by the Seattle group says western media stereotypes negatively affect business as Russia presents many opportunities for foreign investors.
