Deadly oil tanker truck explosion in China sends ruptured vehicle flying through the air (VIDEO)

A dashboard camera has caught the moment of a devastating explosion of a tanker truck in China. The force of the blast apparently propelled a large piece of debris, as if launched from a cannon.

The incident happened in the Zhejiang Province after the vehicle caught fire, Chinese media reported, citing local officials. At least nine people have been killed and 112 others injured in the incident, which happened on an expressway in Taizhou city in the east of the country.

The explosion also started a major fire, with 450 firefighters deployed to the scene to tackle it.

Reports say the tank, which apparently was seen in the shocking video, flew several hundred meters before landing on the ground.

The blast waves shattered glass and even broke down doors in a nearby village.

Other videos filmed in the aftermath of the explosion show several vehicles engulfed by fire and thick plumes of black smoke in the air.
