All flights at Dublin Airport were suspended on Thursday following the confirmed sighting of a drone over the airfield at Ireland’s main airport.

“For safety reasons we are temporarily suspending flight operations [at Dublin Airport] due [to] the confirmed sighting of a drone over the airfield,” the airport said in a tweet. “The safety and security of customers is our key priority at all times.”

FlightRadar footage showed a number of planes above the airport as pilots waited for updates.

Shortly after midday local time the airport tweeted that flights have resumed. “We apologise for any inconvenience. The safety and security of passengers is always our key priority.”
