A soldier has miraculously survived a head-on collision with a subway train in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, sustaining only minor injuries and bruises after crashing into the train so hard that its windshield cracked.

The bizarre incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, briefly disrupting St. Petersburg's subway services. Footage and photos from the scene show a bloodied man in a soldier's uniform being attended to by paramedics.

The train is seen stopped halfway into the station, with its front side visibly damaged. It shows a large dent in the windshield, presumably left by the soldier’s head. The video also shows another soldier, thought to be a superior of the injured man, calling someone in distress.

Witnesses gave different accounts of the event on social media, with some stating that the soldier accidentally fell onto the tracks. Others alleged it was a suicide attempt. The exact cause of the incident remains a mystery, as no official information has yet been released.
