A 10-piece ensemble from Wales is performing in several Crimean cities as part of its Russian tour. The musicians have already treated locals to a medley of Russian tunes and played in the ruins of an antique theater.
On Thursday, members of Symphonic Brass Wales donned scarlet jackets and black bow ties to perform on the stage of the ancient Greek theater of Chersonesus in Crimea, Russia.
The orchestra’s tour takes in the Crimean cities of Sevastopol, Simferopol, Yalta, Feodosia, Kerch, Alushta, and also Krasnodar in the Russian mainland.
“We had a fantastic time here. The audience has been absolutely incredible. It was a huge and enthusiastic crowd,” the orchestra’s musical director Craig Roberts told the Ruptly video agency after the show. “It’s an incredible part of the world.”
