Rapper I-NZ, who produced an Iraq-themed tribute to Childish Gambino’s ‘This is America’, says if even one person is affected positively by his music video, he will feel the effort paid off.

“The world is a dark place, but we can get a positive message across. If this track impacts just one person in a positive manner and help get this conversation going, then it has achieved its goal and I am vindicated in releasing it,” the Dubai-based artist told RT.

I-NZ used Childish Gambino’s music and entire approach of political messaging packed into many references to painful issues to produce This is Iraq. But instead of anti-black violence in the original, I-NZ shows Abu Ghraib’s humiliation of prisoners, ISIS executions, corruption, and extremism. The rapper believes the platform is well suited to address younger people, who normally steer away from politics and know little about the origins of the war in Iraq. Since its release on on July 4, the video got over 600 thousand views on YouTube.
