Pope was a Rolling Stone: Pontiff to star on cover of iconic rock mag

Pope Francis will feature on the front cover of the new edition of the Italian version of Rolling Stone, with issues to go on sale this Thursday.

The issue will have a number of articles on the Pope, including an interview with Italian director Ermanno Olmi and a feature on young people in the Trecca quarter of Milan, where the pope is set to visit March 25.

This is not the first time the popular Pontiff has graced the sacred front cover of the iconic music magazine, having been featured on the US edition in February 2014.

The Argentinian holy man was also honored by DJ mag Italia, featuring on the December 2013 cover, what the Vatican City boss thinks of electronic music is unclear but if legends of the genre Faithless are too be believed - God is a DJ, surely the Pope could shed some light on their claims.

However, not everyone is thrilled with the Catholic frontman’s appearance on Rolling Stone, with some expressing that the Pope has no place on the magazine’s cover, despite his popularity.
