An accurate model of the City Scanner drone from legendary game Half-Life 2 computer game has been created by an enthusiast from Russia. Watch RT’s video of the fully-operational model’s first test flight.

The video shows the drone slowly drifting inside an abandoned building with the direction and the altitude of the flight being changed.

Valentin Demchenko from Russia’s Saratov region, who built the drone, says that he assembled the model “from scratch” at home, inspired by the quadcopter, and it took him two months to create the City Scanner drone copy.

Eighty centimeters long and 55 centimeters high, the model is a full size replica of the drone from the famous game.

In Half-Life 2, Combine Empire, which is the primary antagonistic force in the game, used such drones to spy on the citizens, including the game’s protagonist, in the fictional City 17. The drones took shots of the offenders and could call reinforcements.

Demchenko’s work was praised by many internet-users, while some people said that, while some Half-Life 2 technologies already became reality, Half-Life 3, which is one of the most anticipated video games, has still not been announced.
