The change in business model has led to some speculation that the company is seeking a strategic investor to take a stake.  But the company says that despite numerous offers it’s currently not seeing any which add value. Meanwhile, Russia's mobile operators and larger retailers have been mentioned as possible buyers.  Analysts say that the company would be an interesting for anybody and its peculiar image may play well in some hands, as long as this is in line with a clear business strategy.
