At the international Nanotechnology forum underway in Moscow, Business RT spoke with I will try Claude R. Canizares from Massachusetts Institute of Technology about Russian technology.

RT: How excited are you about the things that you see here?CC: “Well, this is a really impressive display, I must say, more so than I expected when I came here. The scale of this exhibition is very impressive and there are number of different regions represented here which I also find to be a very interesting aspect.” RT: What are the pros and cons of the Russian hi-tech at the moment?CC: “I think Russian Hi-tech is at a fairly early stage compared to some other economies, but it is a very smart move in this direction. Many countries are recognizing that future economic growth really has to come from innovation. They move this way to doing that both in business and in technology.”RT: What is your main piece of advice for Russian Silicon Valley to succeed?CC: “I would say my main piece of advice is to keep open. It is very hard to predict which way things are going to go. Be as open and competitive as possible allow companies to fell and then start new ones.”
