Russian airline accused of safety violation

A criminal investigation has been opened against Russia's S7 airlines by the Prosecutors' Office in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk for the alleged use of uncertified spare parts on some of its planes.

The company, formerly known as Sibir, is accused of violating safety regulations by using uncertified undercarriages on two Tupolev-154 aircraft.S7 is the second largest air carrier in Russia after Aeroflot providing both domestic and international flights.
