Russia is considering buying Oman's stake in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium according to Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin.

Oman decided to sell its 7% share in the CPC due to what it called the inefficiency of the project. Russia and Kazakhstan have the preemptive right to buy out Oman's stake, which they could divide equally.
