North-West Telecom posts 1H 2010 net profit of 2.5 billion roubles

Russian fixed line telecom provider, North-West Telecom, has posted a 1H 2010 net profit of 2.5 billion roubles under IFRS.

The bottom line more than doubled the 1H 2009 net profit of 1.2 billion roubles, with EBITDA rising 22.6% to 6.9 billion roubles, as revenues climbed 8.1% to 14.1 billion roubles year on year.

The company said in a statement that the results reflected rising data transmission and internet revenues – up 17% year on year to almost 3 billion roubles against the backdrop of an improving economy.
