Russia has offered state-of-the-art jet fighters to several Middle East countries, including Libya and Syria. The latest MIG-31 was presented at the Farnborough international air show in England.

Russian fighter jets already arm some air forces in the Middle East. At Farnborough, potential buyers were being invited to upgrade outdated fleets with the new MIG interceptor. The jets are equipped to intercept small and hard-to-detect targets, and are the fastest on the market.
