It is reported that officials have filed tax evasion charges against British citizen William Browder, the head of Hermitage Capital Management. The business newspaper, Kommersant, says Browder, along with Hermitage’s Russian general manager, Ivan Cherkaso

Hermitage Capital Management is one of the biggest foreign investment funds working in Russia. The company invests in shares in Gazprom, Sberbank, Surgutneftegas, Transneft and other major Russian companies.   Russian prosecutors plan to issue an international arrest warrant for Browder. He hasn't been to Russia since 2005, when his visa was revoked. Cherkasov also fled the country following searches at the Hermitage Capital Management offices in Russia last year.
