William Ramsay, Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, joined Russia Today to share his view on the prospects for energy co-operation with Turkmenistan.
Russia Today: Why are Russia and the European Union so interested in courting Turkmenistan right now?William Ramsay: Turkmenistan is a logical source of gas, a lot of gas, a lot of resource. I think they need to prove it up a bit more; they need to spend a fair amount of money on the infrastructure, but there is a fair amount of gas there.
