Nikolay Dimidyuk, the Director for Special Commissions of Russia's defence exports organization, Rosoboronexport, spoke to Russia Today on the most significant results of MAKS-2007.
Russia Today: What are Rosoboronexport’s main achievements at this year's air show? Are you happy with the results? Nikolay Dimidyuk: I can assess this air show not only from the position of RosOboronExport, but I also highly appreciate the results from the point of view of our industry as a whole, and the military-industrial complex in particular. This show has acquired a large scale due to the military equipment shown, and the delegations and guests attending the show, getting acquainted with the military equipment. We consider this air show a success. RT: What technologies and equipment are the most popular among foreign partners, in your opinion? N.D.: Well, this show has a lot of impressive components of military equipment. I would like to point out that there is a large variety of aircraft presented here: fighters, bombers, helicopters of the latest generation, together with newly-designed aviation engines, as well as modernized equipment. Isn’t it indicative that more than 5,200 Russian helicopters are working now in 80 countries around the world? Isn’t this a recognition of the great role that Russia has played in aircraft construction?
