Hotel chain, Hilton Worldwide, has signed an agreement to open five new hotels in Russia by 2014.

The agreement was announced by Hilton's Russia and CIS Business Director, Vladimir Ilyichev, at a "Real Estate in Russia" summit in Moscow on Wednesday.

Hilton already has two hotels in Russia – the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya and another in Perm, and Ilyichev announced they would be joined by two more before the end of this year.

"In the third quarter of this year we also expect to open two hotels, one under the Doubletree by Hilton brand in Novosibirsk and a 379 room Hilton in Gelendzhik."

He added that Hilton will also open two Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Sochi by 2012, prior to the 2014 Siochi Winter Olympics, and that it would open a 224 room Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Perm by 2013.

Ilyichev added that there could be yet more Hilton hotels in Russia if talks with investors and developers are successful, joining the brand’s 3500 hotels in 81 countries.
