Gazprom is considering listing its stock on China's Shanghai stock exchange according to the Interfax news agency, quoting a company source.
Gazprom first mentioned plans to list on an Asian exchange a year ago, but did not specify which one. The company's stock rose 1.4% on Wednesday after news of the possible Shanghai listing broke. If it goes ahead with its plans, Gazprom will be the first Russian company to list in Asia. The Chinese stock market has boomed in the last few years, thanks to the large number of retail investors.
