Aeroflot to buy 22 Airbus airliners

Aeroflot, the Russian national airline  and the country’s  biggest carrier, has signed an agreement with Airbus corporation  to purchase 22 A320 XWB wide-bodied jets.

At the same time, Russia’s United Aircraft Building Corporation, signed a deal with an Airbus parent company, EADS aerospace corporation, according to which Russian aircraft manufacturers are set to execute 5% of work in building the new Airbus A350 wide-body airliner.  Development of the new airliner is expected to hit $ US15 BLN. Also, Airbus will set up a German-Russian joint venture to convert its A320 jets into cargo planes.
