Russia’s UTair orders 20 jets from Airbus

UTair,one of Russia's leading carriers, has signed a contract with Airbus for 20 single-aisle A321 passenger planes. The deal worth $2,072 bln was announced at the Farnborough Air show.

"This is the largest order for the type received from a carrier in the region and the first time UTair has ordered Airbus aircraft," Airbus said in a statement."We are delighted to welcome UTair as a new Airbus customer in Russia and the latest for the A320 Family," John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, was quoted as saying.Airbus will start supplying Utair with A321 planes in 2013.  Also China Aircraft leasing said it intended to buy 36 A320 planes, among them 8 A321 jets – the largest in the 320 series – with the total price of $3 billion, Airbus officials said.Airbus also signed a $3.2 billion contract with Hong Kong’s Cathy Pacific for the purchase of 10 wide-body A350-1000 jets.
