Russian hockey star Pavel Datsyuk has commented on his participation in Games of the Future that kicked off in the Russian city of Kazan this week.

“Figital is something new for me. I never play the console as a kid, I was outside all the time. Today I had to asked young guys which button to press to pass the puck. They treated me with respect. This is cool! They obeyed their elders, they had good parents. I didn’t plan to take the shootout, my hands just moved on their own,” the sportsman, known as the ‘Magic Man’ for the way he handled his stick to pull off some unfathomable moves, said.

“3x3 format? This is a small platform. I welcome it. Lots of interesting moments and goals. You can quickly take the puck, but also lose it. We need to think faster. I think this will help young players and our hockey in general,” he added.

“Well done everyone today! Their goalkeeper didn’t start well, but then he pulled himself together and helped the team,” Datsyuk concluded.
