‘A unity of sports and technology, of enlightenment and science’: Putin’s speech at the Games of the Future opening
Intertwined tradition and modernity, a unity of sports and technology, of enlightenment of science – all of these are necessary for human development in the multifaceted, multipolar world that is emerging before our very eyes, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Games of the Future opening ceremony. He believes it is only logical that the idea to merge traditional sports and cybersports emerged in Russia, “a land of great scientists, builders and engineers.” The phygital movement will inspire people, especially younger generations, to set and achieve new, ever-higher, goals, the president said.
