“The Times Iranian bomb “spill” – ploy to trigger sanctions”

The “spill” over Iran allegedly building the trigger for a nuclear bomb is just another US ploy to make its allies sanction the country, said Seyyed Mohammad Marandi from the University of Tehran.

”Right now the Americans again are trying to impose sanctions on Iran, they are trying to force other countries to turn against Iran, therefore they are planting this sort of information in newspapers,” he said.

Seyyed Mohammad Marandi added that the country is ready to cooperate with the Western powers based only upon the condition of respect.

“As long as the Americans continue to try to intimidate the country and speak about carrots and sticks, they are not going to get a positive response,” he said.

The Times has recently reported that Iran is building the trigger for a potential nuclear bomb. Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed the allegations, saying the report was fabricated by the American government.
