American Muslims see “more harassment” under Obama

Jason Hamza Perez, a former drug dealer who converted to Islam, says Muslims in the US have suffered more harassment since Obama took office than during the Bush era.

His personal story is told in the film “New Muslim cool”, directed by Jennifer Maytorena Taylor. The story is about the struggle of American Muslims being neglected, Hamza Perez told RT.

“They can’t deport us anywhere, can’t take our green cards away, because we are Americans and Muslims in America have been here even before the American Revolution. So Islam has its roots in America and we don’t feel like we have to be silenced,” he says about American Muslims, adding, “So we see a problem with the system, and like any Americans we will speak out on it.”
