Italian tractor driver Dario Gambarin has ‘carved’ a gigantic image of the World Cup along with the name of the newly-crowned champions, France, in a field near Verona in northern Italy.

Gambarin used his tractor as well as a plow and a rotary harrow to transform the field into a massive image which could be seen from the sky. The ‘land artist’ also plowed the word ‘Russia’ in cyrillic script beneath the image to pay tribute to the nation which staged the tournament.

He is famous for creating field art dedicated to global events. Last year, he made a huge portrait of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin ahead of the G20 summit in Germany, which the president attended along with other world leaders.

The Italian farmer also ‘engraved’ other influential figures in his field works, including former US President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela, and the incumbent US President Donald Trump.
