Goals from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli have progressed England to the final four of a World Cup for the first time since 1990 and their supporters are finally beginning to believe that football might indeed be ‘coming home’.
The 2-0 win in the Samara Arena was achieved without Gareth Southgate’s side every really looking in danger, with the challenge of England being a bridge too far for Janne Anderson’s men, a team which can be proud of their impact at Russia 2018.
England have set up a semi-final with the winner of Saturday’s quarter final between Russia and Croatia, a game which will be the most significant one in recent English football history.
And with so much at stake, England fans are allowing themselves to revel in the moment and dare to dream that 2018 might be the year to exorcise decades of World Cup heartbreak.

England have beaten Tunisia, Panama, Sweden and Colombia to reach a World Cup semi final— Garreth MacNamee (@garmacnamee) July 7, 2018
Don't want to go on about it, but the difference in quality from last night to this is shocking. Fair play to England. Making a semis is fantastic no matter who you play. But I've no idea if they can step up to level of Belgium/France— Michael McCarthy (@McCarthyMick) July 7, 2018
