‘He whimpers like a girl’: McGregor sparring partner makes training claims

Former two-weight boxing champion Paul Malignaggi, one of Conor McGregor’s sparring partners for his upcoming boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather, says he will soon share inside information about the Irishman’s training camp.

“This coming week I'll actually start to discuss a bit what happened Tuesday, he whimpers like a girl when he gets ripped to body,” Malignaggi said on Twitter.

The 36-year-old from Brooklyn, New York, left McGregor’s training camp in Las Vegas last Thursday, after pictures appeared online of him lying on the canvas and the Irishman standing over him.

“Its not nice 2 paint a pic that isn't true, this was a pushdown in sparring, post the whole video rounds 1 through 12 UNEDITED,”tweeted Malignaggi, who flew to Las Vegas from New York at the beginning of last week to help MMA star McGregor in his preparations for his first pro boxing match.

He added that he will not reveal any tactical information he may have received during the two sparring sessions he had with the UFC star. But instead will “in time” speak on the things that “upset him.”

McGregor will face the undefeated Mayweather at T-Mobile Arena on August 26, in what is expected to be one of the most lucrative boxing bouts of all time.

The Irish two-weight UFC champion has a record of 21 wins and three losses in MMA. Mayweather is undefeated in a professional boxing career spanning almost two decades, and has recorded 26 knockout victories in his 49 wins.
