The OPCW was awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for its contribution to ridding the world of chemical weapons. Now it faces the task of destroying Syria’s sizable stockpile, in record time and under extreme conditions. As we approach the first major milestone, we ask - can Syria be expected to achieve something that even the world’s major powers have failed to do under ideal conditions? And to what extent has the chemical weapons issue been turned into a political weapon? Paul Walker, a renowned chemical weapons expert and winner of the ‘Alternative Nobel Prize’, joins Oksana to examine these issues.
