Global problems have been accumulating in recent years as the world's powers have become stuck in a pattern of confrontation, unable or unwilling to cooperate to solve them. But with issues such as the migration crisis, instability in the Middle East and inequality threatening to grow out of control, the need for action is clear. How can these problems be addressed as developing and conflict-ridden countries seek to develop democratically in their own way?
