Martyn Andrews discovers the area around Samara - a city on the eastern bank of the Volga river which used to be a closed city during the Cold War, due to its aerospace industry. He visits the aircraft design bureau and Stalin’s underground shelter which was constructed during World War II, in case of the capture of Moscow by Hitler's troops. Martyn also tries out the car which, due to its cheapness, became a cult item. This is a special Wayfarer series, dedicated to April Fools' Day that is celebrated in many countries, including Russia. 1.
