Episode 097

Senator David Norris joined the Irish senate when Ireland was a more conservative country than it is now. The church was yet to begin its spectacular fall from grace and an openly gay man in the corridors of power caused many a splutter over the Irish breakfast. As well as changing the law which jailed Oscar Wilde and fighting for gay marriage, Senator Norris never forgot  that the good Samaritan never passes by on the other side of the road, however far away. Norris' speech in the Irish Senate as Gaza burned in the summer of 2014 has to be seen and heard to be believed.  This week he joins Sputnik for a very special episode.
