Libya has gone to hell and there appears no timetable for a return journey. There may not be one at all. Last week the Islamic State lined up 21 Christians on a beach facing Europe and cut off their heads, one by one.
The atrocity has triggered some events that may prove momentous. Joining Sputnik this week to discuss just what is happening in the region is Hafsa Kara Mustapha, who despite her years is a very considerable expert on the Arab-Maghreb.
In part two, Ann Morgan join us. She set out to read every book in the world, well not quite every book, but a book from every country. Her own book about the books she read is called Reading the World and from where better to view the world and its literature than on board the Sputnik.
