1991 - Vladimir Zhirinovsky runs for president of Russia, receiving 8 per cent of the vote
1993 - Came first in the State Duma elections
2007 - Party currently has 500,000 members

The parliamentary election will take place in Russia on December 2. On that day the lower chamber of Parliament, the State Duma, will be elected according to party list proportional representation system. More than a dozen political parties are campaigning for seats in parliament and today we’re introducing Vladimir Zhirinovsky – the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia.
