Vadim Kolesnichenko, Ukrainian politician and Member of Parliament
A few weeks ago we had Mr.Sankar Basu in our studio - and this world renown expert on Russian gave me an impression, that my native tongue is becoming very popular around the world. But a Conference on the Status of Russian language abroad, that has recently taken place in Moscow, makes me think, that the situation doesn't apply to the countries that are the former Soviet republics. What is the current situation with the Russian language on the post-Soviet space, populated by millions of Russians and Russian speakers? What are the main problems the issue faces today? To answer these questions our guest in the studio today is a Conference delegate, Ukrainian politician and Member of Parliament - Vadim Kolesnichenko.
