Surviving Auschwitz

The Zienkiewicz Sisters - Auschwitz Prisoners

Born in Warsaw, sisters Ksenia Olkhova and Lydia Turovskaya took part in the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, after which they lost their parents and were imprisoned in Auschwitz. They regained their freedom only after the crushing defeat of the Nazis in 1945. On the Victory in Europe Day and on the eve of Russia’s Victory Day, the heroic sisters are the guests on Spotlight.
