Students and professors of some most renowned theater schools gathered here at the Stanislavsky Festival. The esteemed Russian actor and theater director of the early 20th century Konstantin Stanislavsky is considered to be the father of modern acting training. What’s so special about the training system he created – the famous “Stanislavsky Method”? We discuss it with Melissa Smith – conservatory director and head of acting at the American Conservatory theater in San Francisco, the only American company invited to the Stanislavsky festival.
