Economy going global

Sergey Belyakov – Deputy Minister of Economic Development

Barack Obama’s re-election wasn’t warmly welcomed by global markets. Many fear his economic policy will lead the US to another great recession, and these fears even made the dollar dip a bit on the news of Obama’s victory. The dollar’s rate is back again, but the concerns are still there, because if America falls, the whole world will probably follow. There is, however, an optimistic point of view. Our guest today is Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sergey Belyakov. We discuss Obama’s reelection, the dependency of the world and, particularly, the Russian economy, on the American one AND – last but not least – the investment climate in Russia.
